Note: Greyed-out prompts contain spoilers for the s6 finale. Highlight to read. Also, some prompts may be shortened in the masterlist, for length.

The Huggy Arms Of Sam by mad_server
Sam is the one to piss off the witch for a change. He gets hit with a hugging curse and - to Dean's great horror - starts cuddling him the moment Dean shows the slightest sign of distress.

Someday Never Comes by purple_carpets
End of 'My Bloody Valentine' Season 5. Dean is pleading to God, to someone, to anyone for help, aid, comfort. Either in a dream or in person, John, Dean's father, visits him and offers Dean some words of comfort, aid, strength and much needed love and praise in Dean's desperate hours and gives Dean the will and strength to keep going.

And Master of One by ramblin_rosie
Dean is tired of being everybody's perfect non-smart little stooge. He is determined to prove to his little brother that he is not Daddy's soldier and he does have a brain in his head. The question is -- how?

Coulomb’s Law by adrenalineshots
In the finale, Dean went through the railing at the top of the stairs and the way he hit that table looked like it should have caused some serious damage. Dean's hurt, but he's still got to get up and deal with Cas.

Sesame Seeds by kalliel
Dean, Sam, gen, s4, food/cooking, fever/nausea/exhaustion
Sam can see how worn down Dean looks lately, and wants to do something for him. His solution is to give Dean one good homecooked meal - because all they ever eat is greasy diner food or gas station junk. He gets a motel room with a kitchenette so he can cook in it and slaves away all day to surprise Dean with the meal.

The Black and Blue Danube Waltz by ramblin_rosie
Dean has fair skin, and every bruise shows up in livid detail, no matter how inconsequential. Even totally innocent activities leave his body painted in a variety of fancy colors. Normally, this isn't a problem. Normally. (Gen please, feel free to be as silly or dramatic as you like with this.)

When you Bleed, I Hurt by si_star_x
Sam and Dean are cursed or put under a spell or whatever that causes one brother to have the physical affects of any injuries (wounds, bruises, etc) but not the sensation, while the other brother feels it all but doesn't show the injury.

Dean VS rats by jensensdream
There simply cannot be enough fics dealing with Dean's problem with rats. However you like. Just bring out the rats, please.

Untitled by 07nathalie
Gen. Teenchesters.
It wasn't anything supernatural that caused Dean to lose the ability to walk. He walked into a store and got shot by a surprised robber. Dean ended up growing into adulthood at Bobby's house, only seeing Sam when John decided to drop in. John dealt with his guilt by throwing himself even deeper into the hunt and ignoring Dean. At the same time, Sam hovered between missing his brother and resenting his 'settled' life. That's when Dean became determined to choose his own path. He decided to get back into hunting in any way possible. He started inventing stuff, became an expert in certain types of lore, etc. And that's when an equally determined Sam showed up, intent on taking his brother with him to Stanford so that they could live a normal life.

Shakes by marlowe78
We’ve had two? (I think) references onscreen to Dean taking pills of unknown origin. I’d like something that deals with that. Not necessarily involving addiction (although that can be a part of it if you’d like to take things in that direction) but more like, the why behind that.

Picking at Scabs by princess_aleera
Sam/Dean, first-time, pre-series.
Dean is hurt on a hunt or gets sick, and John drops him off at Bobby's to recover. But it's worse than John knows, and Dean goes downhill fast. He refuses to go to a hospital; left on his own by the only family he has in the world, he's so screwed up he doesn't see the point in getting better. Bobby can't reach John, so he calls Sam at Stanford and Sam rushes to Dean's side... Lots of weak!Dean, pale, wan, depressed, ready for everything to just be over, and Sam taking care of him and trying to show him he has something to live for.

The Way the Story Goes by sakura_no_mi
R, Sam/Dean
Suffering a wound that is causing distressing blood loss, one brother has to give the other brother a field-medic style blood transfusion back at the hotel. I'd prefer sometime before season three.

Untitled by jaimeykay
I want Dean de-aged physically and mentally to just about 5 years old. Sam is taking care of him when they walk past a burned out house and the smell and the firefighters and the sirens bring all of little!Dean's buried memories back up. Cue, Sam desperately trying to comfort his panicking, traumatized big little brother.

The Blade Itself by anon
In 6x21, when Dean is torturing the demons for the whereabouts of Lisa and Ben, it triggers his memories and he falls into a trance-like state, still believing himself to be in hell with his next victim on the rack.

The View Up Here by anon
This is disgustingly adorable, but I really, really want de-aged!Dean riding around on Sam’s giant shoulders (or just being picked up.) Bonus points if Dean is physically de-aged only and is all like, UGH SAM, at the concept of being picked up, but then when he’s up there he kind of thinks it’s awesome.

Prairie Wind by honeylocusttree
Dean, Sam, gen, PG13, some self-harm
Sam and Dean have been on high-alert and in a high-stress position for years now. When the war is over, Sam insists they take a vacation/consider stopping hunting altogether. They’re both having issues, but while for Sam the quiet-time is used for reflecting/rediscovering himself, for Dean with his life-long avoidance issues, not being in the high-alert state is initially nothing less than terrifying. When he suddenly has free time to kill, he crashes, gets sick and can’t shake it. (I’m thinking like a cold/flu that turns into pneumonia or something, but whatever you want would work.) Lots of feverish!Dean, of course, angst, and I’d love me some PTSD!Dean or mental-illness!Dean too.

Serenity's Lullaby by lexophilia
6.17 On the Head of a Pin, gen, suicide attempt
Dean attempts suicide. Sam finds him, rushes him to the hospital. The tension at the hospital between the brothers is crushing.

Damn Hoodies by lexophilia
Dean is looking on the internet after The Monster at the End of this Book and comes across a hoodie_time comment-fic meme.

Nuts pie by adrenalineshots
Dean is given medication for an illness or injury that cause psychological side-effects in him, like panicky feelings, hallucinations, whatever. Sam deals with it, for he is awesome like that.

Hummingbird by anon
S1-S3-ish Dean comes down with the fever of all fevers. He's hot, he's cold, he's shaking all over the place and Sam has half a mind to just knock him out and take him to the hospital. Dean starts talking about Sammy - as in little-toddler-can't-take-care-of-himself-wee!Sammy - and how he needs to save him and Sam can't quite figure out if his brother is talking about some long kept secret or if the fever is making him see crazy things.

Atrophy by anon
S4-6, PG-13-ish for language, gen, Sam, Dean, a tiny bit of Bobby, feverishness, depression, suicidal ideation, bed sharing
Dean is cursed or infected by something that augments your emotions. But this being set anytime from s4 to post-series (I’m thinking of what Famine said about Dean’s emptiness in My Bloody Valentine and I definitely don’t think that’s wholly healed) it’s less of an outpouring of visible emotion for the most part and more of an all-consuming, don’t-want-to-even-get-out-of-bed depression. This leads to them having to confront that this is how Dean feels on a regular basis, just at a lower level.

Running With the Devil by vie_dangerouse
S3 (post 3.09, "Malleus Malificarum")/AU-S5. Sam said yes. The repercussions reverberate back to the past.
A supernatural creature (or human with supernatural powers) is out to punish sinners. The punishments for each person is what that person secretly thinks they deserve. What does Dean think he deserves?

Chills by dollarformyname
Dean has a major case of the chills, and piles on more and more layers throughout the day until he looks homeless. In the end he lets Sam intervene. Please with forehead feeling as part of the intervention. 'Cause, forehead feeling.

Who’s the Boogieman Now? by faithburke
Teen. Sam, Dean, Aaron Hotchner, gen, crossover with Criminal Minds
Sam and de-aged Dean are in a store when it gets robbed. The police are called and it turns into a hostage situation. The robber plans to escape by using child Dean as a human shield. Naturally, Sam kicks the robber to the curb, then reassures his now younger and very upset brother.

Blood Work by adrenalineshots
Dean and Sam are taken by friends of Gordon's. They cage the boys in different cells but they can touch each other. Dean is chained to the outside of Sam's cage and is beaten hurt by Gordon's friends. They want Dean to suffer for leaving him after Bloodlust. Sam tries to protect Dean as the men beat him. He reaches between the bars and tries to grab the whip/chain being used to beat Dean. Dean taunts the men to keep them focused on him and not Sam.

Burn by glorious_spoon
late s6 era, gen; Sam, Dean, Bobby
Drinking the phoenix ash has Dean slowing changing into something supernatural. Problem is, Dean has to be killed in order to be changed back to human and no one knows if he'll come back to life again.

Safekeeping by anon
AN: So, this is pretty much gen, but there’s allusions to Dean/Alastair and one line of Sam/Dean (in a nightmare.) R. Warnings for dark, dark hell-related things.
As we all know, Dean spent more time in hell than on earth. How about some PTSD!fic that deals with that, with the realisation that his existence consisted of blood and pain for a longer time than he's actually alive topside?

Brimstone On Her Skin by rainylemons

Fever sex!!! Because there can never be enough as far as I'm concerned. I don’t care who with. Just no non-con, please.

Proximity by mad_server
Dean, Sam, gen.
The boys are cursed where they have to stay within just a couple feet of each other at all times or Dean gets violently sick and could die (they find this out the hard way when they try to get further apart and it nearly kills Dean). Maybe they also have to cuddle/hug frequently too as part of the stipulations of the curse. (No Wincest from this though.)

No Explanations, Just This by si_star_x
Limping!Dean. Dean messed up one of his legs and now walks with a pretty serious limp. He can walk fine without a cane or anything, but he does limp heavily. Uh, can't really think of anything else to add... just, a focus on Dean's limp, that's all.

Say Aaaah by roque_clasique
Dean has laryngitis. This turns into a worse infection and he’s sick as a dog and also he sounds like a cross between Barry White and a talking mouse, which is embarrassing. But really what I want from this prompt is Sam getting all overprotective and take charge and insisting on going into the doctor’s office with Dean, since Dean is voiceless and sickly and spends most of his time snotting all over everything, tbh. Sam quizzes the doctor while Dean rolls his eyes oh so maturely and the hospital staff thinks they’re weirdos.

Dean hasn't had a drink in a while and is getting mild withdrawal symptoms (SHAKY HANDS PLEASE!!!). Sam notices.

Rain Rain Go Away by mayhsgirl93
While running after a creature in a raining crazed forest, Dean stumbles on a tree root/rock/his feet/your choice and falls into a very deep whole that was once a well. Stuck there with a twisted ankle, cuts and bruises and water up to his waist with rain pouring down on him, Dean has to wait a few hours for Sam to bring back some rope or others and try to get him out. Feel free to have Sam help Dean to the shower to warm up as well as Sam cuddling Dean in bed to warm up his body. Slash, No Slash is up to you.

Human Kindness by chiiyo86

They totally need a casserole or some other act of human kindness.

It Can't be True by crowley_gal
Warning: Non Con reference
Dean is in the hospital after a hunt. The injury is fairly minor, but that's not the problem. The boys have just finished a salt and burn on a ghost whose victims were the product of a rape. For Sam and Dean the real problem is why did the ghost attack Dean.

De-aged!Dean... and early s6 Sam. It’s a bit traumatizing. Maybe Bobby saves the day and uncomfortably takes care of wee Dean, who is saaaad because his brother is all weird and soulless. Idk, you could go for super-angst or humour with it, I think. Sam lets wee Dean drink all the beer he wants! Sam tries to act like a parent (with an actual soul) in front of people! Sam doesn't suck at babysitting QUITE as much as you'd assume he would! Or whatever. Gen for this one, pls.

Stubborn by sakura_no_mi
PG, Sam, Dean (gen - I think)
Dean loses his appetite whenever he has a fever, always has, and becomes as picky over food as a four-year-old out to dinner. Sam tries his best. Bonus: Add that to the fact that he hadn’t been eating properly before he got sick anyway (Post-hell angst? Anything.) and this is NOT GOOD.

Sammy's here by jensensdream
S4/5. Deans been de-aged and has really bad nightmares about hell, waking up crying and screaming bloody murder because he doesn't understand whats going on or why he's having horrible dreams about nasty monsters hurting him. Sam's really worried and freaked out slightly, and lays with Dean until he calms down and falls back to sleep. Sam realizes Dean's nightmares stop when he's with him, so he starts sleeping in Dean's bed with him.

A lesson in self-control by anon
Teen!Dean is claustrophobic and it sometimes interferes with hunts. John decides he needs to get over it, so he locks Dean in the trunk of the Impala to try and basically scare it out of him. He figured that once Dean's in there a while he'll realize that nothing is really so bad about it and get over his fear. But um obviously this doesn't work and Dean is just trapped in the trunk panicking. John doesn't have to be mean, just misguided.

Black Clouds by purple_carpets
Because I'm obsessed with torturer!Dean. Mind control. Someone, or something (Alastair? It’s up to you.) puts a trigger inside Dean’s mind. This trigger (a word, a phrase, etc.) causes him to snap briefly into torturer mode. I’d love to see the fallout of that, for example if he ends up hurting someone, causing massive amounts of psychological trauma/possible breakdown.

The Lucky One by i_speak_tongue
So Dean's hurt badly. Like maybe supernatural bad. And he's got a raging infection in less than an hour and is out of his mind with fever (complete with violently shaking chills and maybe puking into a paper take-out baggie... yes, puking would be sheer gold and the sweats and muscle cramps... go insane with the possibilities, please) and Sam hauls their asses to the Roadhouse because it's closer than Bobby's. Cue in Ash figuring out the cure (which naturally has to be just as bad as the actual sickness), Sam pinning Dean down during the seizures (or at least the shakes... or maybe as the cure runs its way through his system). Then, when the worse of the cure/sickness is over, there's TLC from Ellen as she mops up his sweat and Dean's all embarrassed but not-wanting Ellen to stop because it feels good to be taken care of and not have to keep up his tough-guy persona as much. And maybe leaning into Ellen's palm a bit...

Not Moving, Letting Go by i_speak_tongue
Takes place shortly after Sam leaves for Stanford. John and Dean throw themselves into a hunt they aren't ready for and both get injured. Not really life threatening but it requires hospitalization, Dean a little worse though. Father and son are sharing a room. What happens after that is up to the author, but bonus points for a scene where John thinks Dean is sleeping and John is talking to a nurse about Dean's condition and he talks about how worried about Dean he is and how proud of him he is and Dean hears it.

Willful Winchesters by spn_4eva
Gen, teenchesters. Sam gets involved in an accident at school, is injured and taken to hospital. His injury is bad enough that they want to keep him in overnight. Sam begs them not to call home - John's away and Dean is chronically ill/ has a permanent injury/disability which makes it hard for him to get around. But Dean somehow finds out and endeavours to make the journey so he can watch over his little brother even though he's hurtin' real bad himself. (At the hospital the nurses could try and look after Dean too - maybe set him up in a bed next to Sammy or a really comfy recliner chair. And to make it extra special John could make an appearance at the end - coming in to take both his boys home and look after them.)

"I have a mind of my own. I'm not pathetic like you." - Asylum

I'd like something pre-series where independent young Sam observes his obedient big brother and forms the above-noted opinion. And isn't shy about voicing his opinion on how brainless daddy's perfect soldier is. Maybe it's part of his own emotional ammunition in making his decision to go to Stanford (maybe he needs to isolate himself from his brother so he can make a clean break and not feel guilty about it?). It's up to the writer. I'd prefer if Sam isn't just a dick. I've always found his conflicted feelings about his brother to be really compelling (the way he loves him so fiercely but often times doesn't really see or know him). And I'd like to see how Sam's attitude adds to Dean's self esteem issues (where he starts viewing himself as only John's blunt instrument, attack dog, etc).

Oh, goody. This is a completely unrealistic prompt, but if Dean were to stumble in all bloodloss-y in the middle of the test and Sam has to angst over whether to stay and finish because STANFORD! LAW SCHOOL! LIFE PLAN THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE BLEEDING COPIOUSLY! or to tend to his brother. That would be awesome.

Dean loses both of his legs and his arms. For whatever reason, he isn't a candidate for prostheses. Dean's care just became a full time job. Dean's depressed over the prospect. Sam's afraid it means he can't run away to Stanford. Dean tells John to dump him in a home, but John reminds him that Winchesters don't turn their backs on family. Up to the author where it goes from there: Couple of possibilities include John taking care of the demon and caring for Dean or Sam giving up on Stanford. Bonus for Sam and John fighting, but ultimately working together on this one.

School has always been a touchy issue for Dean. He's smart but school's not a priority. The teacher thinking Dean's an idiot pairs him with the smart guy in class, so he won't fail and have to repeat, because the teacher doesn't want him in his class again. The smart guy resents being paired with Dean because he feels like the teacher and doesn't want to be stuck with all the work. Dean proves them both wrong and Dean's partner starts to realize that there is much more to Dean than he shows.

Gen, references to torture, language. And dark crack, if such a thing exists.
A supernatural creature (or human with supernatural powers) is out to punish sinners. The punishments for each person is what that person secretly thinks they deserve. What does Dean think he deserves?

A Winchester Moment by dreamlitnight
The boys are on a hunt (could be pre-series, or during the series) and Dean breaks his ankle. They're in the woods and the thing they're hunting is still out there. Cue lots of Sam or John (or Sam and John?) trying to help Dean limp through the forest as the MOTW huffs and lumbers through the nearby trees, stalking them but never coming quite close enough to shoot. (If John and Sam are both in the fic, would love to see them fighting over the best way to take care of Dean!)

The Full Spectrum by beth_summer
Dean, Sam, gen. The aftermath of Dean having been turned into some type of animal and then changed back after being the animal for a very long time. Dean has to adjust to being human again. Sam is there with Dean every step of the way.

Curse or Cure by nwhepcat
PG-13, gen
6.19 based. Cas healed the Mother's bite and prevented Dean from being Jefferson Starshipped, but there are still aftereffects. Dean keeps dreaming of a mother, he's never clear whether it's the Mother or his mother. But he knows she means home, and he knows he has to find her. He's not eating, he's not interacting with the real world, he's not working cases. He just wants to sleep all the time. Cue anxious Sam and Bobby, trying to figure out what's going on and stop it.

Snake Bite by si_star_x
Dean (and/or Sam) is injured badly enough, or is sick enough or has come down with something natural but weird enough, that the local hospital can't treat him and he has to be life-flighted to a hospital in the nearest big city. There isn't time to go by ambulance/car, and he/they will die if they stay put. We know Dean has a problem with airplanes... can he hold it together in a helicopter, knowing there's no other choice? Gen, please, and preferably no Cas to save the day--author's choice as to why.

Detour on 71 by darth_firefly @ bluetoastfics
PG-13, Dean, John, Pastor Jim, Adam, Kate, Kate/John and mentions of John/Mary
Dean knows he has another little brother. Has known for a long time, probably even before John himself knew. He knows about his dad’s trips to Minnesota, and what he does there. But he has never confronted John about it. John eventually realizes Dean knows, and damnit, he’s torn between begging on his hands and knees for his eldest’s forgiveness or yelling at him and demand how he knows.

[ART] Dean crying by lexophilia

Crying!Dean. Like a full on ugly-face cry-until-you’re-dead-tired fest, the likes of which we’ve never seen on the show.

AU to OTHOAP. Alastair gets away, but he keeps Dean in his sights, and he always will. Do with that what you will.

the thrills, the bills, the pills that kill by wave_obscura
Season six. PG-13, (language) het-ish - non-graphic Dean/Lisa. Angst. Permanently injured Dean. Smoking!Dean.
I would love to see something from the beginning of season 6 where a permanently injured Dean shows up at Lisa's doorstep (or she goes to get him from the hospital). How does this change the dynamics of their relationship?

The Only Thing That Can't Fly Away by ratherastory
PG, Sam, Dean, OCs, gen
I'm craving some outsider POV. That mysteriously tall guy who lives across the street looks so worn out all the time, which is understandable, since he has to look after his chronically ill and/or permanently injured brother (or boyfriend). They totally need a casserole or some other act of human kindness.

Shake, Rattle and Roll by roque_clasique
PG. Sam, Dean, and John, gen.
Stanford-era: Dean suffered some sort of moderate brain damage during a hunt with John. He can still function alright and help out on hunts to an extent, but sometimes he gets really shaky, suffers from various forms of aphasia and stammering, and his hands won't always work the way they're supposed to (difficulty feeding himself or dressing himself). The more tired Dean is the worse his symptoms are. John has kept him by his side since the accident, but he knows he's getting close to the demon and he doesn't want Dean in the line of fire. John takes Dean to stay with Sam. Sam doesn't know about Dean's altered state and Dean's on edge about seeing Sam like this.

Getting Soft by nwhepcat
Pre-series, Dean, John, Bobby, a flicker of Sam, gen, but the final part is full of amazing technicolor dream!sex.
A run in with a witch leads to Dean slowly turning into a girl. Physically, Dean's pretty sore and his joints hurt as his body changes into a female body. Worse than the physical pain is the pain of looking in the mirror and basically seeing his mother looking back at him. He's pretty sure that John sees the same thing and worries about his father pushing him away. I'd really love a scene where John comforts Dean about his changed body and his fears about looking like Mary.

Fire killed mommy by jensensdream
I want Dean de-aged physically and mentally to just about 5 years old. Sam is taking care of him when they walk past a burned out house and the smell and the firefighters and the sirens bring all of little!Dean's buried memories back up. Cue, Sam desperately trying to comfort his panicking, traumatized big little brother.

Take Care What You Ask of Me, 'Cause I Can't Say No by dreamlitnight
G, gen.

Insane ramblings of a medicated Dean by jensensdream
Gen
Dean is given medication for an illness or injury that cause psychological side-effects in him, like panicky feelings, hallucinations, whatever. Sam deals with it, for he is awesome like that.

Scared (not so) straight by marlowe78
Dean, OMCs (some John, Sam and a little old lady with a sailor's mouth), Adult, Warnings: rape, violence
Okay, I was bored and flipping through channels trying to find something to watch on TV and came across a show called beyond scared straight. It was about a group of at risk teens taken to an adult prison for a day to see what it is like. So of course, I had to ask myself don't this seem like a great thing for Dean to experience. Maybe he's caught swiping something from a store and the judge decides to scare him straight rather than punish him so Dean gets to accompany 4 or 5 other teens to an adult jail for the day. I know that Dean fit in to prison life well in Folsom Prison Blues but I would think that 15-17 year old Dean would have a different reaction.

Eleventh Hour by st_salieri
PG-13, gen
I just re-watched "In My Time of Dying" and that scene where John sits quietly near an unconscious Dean's bedside KILLS me. So, I would love it if there was some sort of fic that explores that further. Can we have John fussing over Dean's blankets or something? Or having him talk aloud to Dean's body while Dean's spirits overhears? Just something! I need to know what is going through John's mind then!

Potshots by mad_server
Dean is sick. Sam buys him scented Kleenex, but Dean is allergic to them. OH NO. :P
